NORD’s Texas Report Card for Rare Disease

In 2015, NORD launched its State Report Card project with a goal of evaluating how effectively states are serving people with rare diseases.

NORD’s State Report Card analyzes all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Each state has their own individual report card and are graded based on nine policy issues that impact the rare disease community.

  1. Medicaid Financial Eligibility

  2. Medical Nutrition

  3. Newborn Screening

  4. Prescription Drug Out-of-Pocket Costs

  5. Protecting Patients in State Medicaid Programs

  6. Protecting Patients in State-Regulated Insurance

  7. Rare Disease Advisory Councils

  8. Step Therapy

  9. Telehealth
